Put Down Your Shovel and Vote!November 04, 2008
Sure, after a gusty, wet night last night, the clouds have cleared for the moment in Western Washington, temping gardeners to run out and rake up fallen leaves, cut back finished perennials, and just take a walk to enjoy what remains of fall color out there. But, please don’t forget to hang up your hori-hori and head on down to the polls before its too late. Every vote counts, despite what the pollsters say about the federal election being determined by other states. And, it isn’t just about the federal election. We have judges, state representatives, ballot initiatives and charters to consider. So, if you haven’t already, please head to the polls now.
If you’re lucky like me, you’ll walk right in and find there are no lines. I walked to the polls, voted and was home in less than an hour. If you have a moment after voting, please share your poll stories. I find it fascinating that some are waiting in lines for hours and hours when I’m blessed with a no-wait situation every time I go to the polls.
